Description
We are seeking an experienced theater teacher to lead our high school drama program. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in theater or a related field and excellent communication skills. This is a full-time position with benefits.
Requirements
Qualifications and Skills
o Bachelor's degree in theater or a related field.
o Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level
assigned.
o Extensive knowledge and experience in various aspects of theater, including acting, directing, stage
design, and production.
o Ability to coach and mentor students in acting and stage production.
o Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups
of students, staff, and parents.
Responsibilities and Duties
o Design and implement a theater curriculum that aligns with Texas Education Agency, board policies, and
administrative regulations.
o Instruct students in the fundamentals of acting, improvisation, and stage production.
o Coordinate and direct school productions, including casting, rehearsals, and performances.
o Collaborate with other arts educators to produce interdisciplinary performances.
o Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
o Any other duties assigned.
