alright I appreciate y'all coming I know I want respect everybody's time so I'm going to start as close to 6 as I and get you out of here. I got a lot information on pack hopefully it'll be about 40 45 minutes I'll get you out of here I know a lot of y'all have youth groups in church or you just ready to go eat dinner so I'll get you as quick as I can but I really want to thank y'all for coming this meeting is to learn about sports complex and how it's going to get built and I were going to unpack all that but before I get to there then the real meat of this talk I just want to do some self-made Scott Wilson on the current president of school board at Compass south side of the school board for about five years and I believe I've been president for a little over a year time just flies but before we really get into the meat of the presentation I want to play a little video I was fortunate enough to interview one of the founders of compass and I think it's really important to know where we've I'm from so you can see where we're going to go Anna he is little 3-minute Cliff it won't take long but it really gives you the tells you about the Genesis of the school you know who who thought of compass where did that come from and why did we get started and he can said it better anyone Southfield watch the screen will play the video for you real quick okay so that was basically house house just got started it was a group of people from the church that decided that they we need an alternative alternative to what Odessa currently had offered as a school so they they went to Austin they lobbied for that school and and the charter was founded in 2010 years later have this beautiful campus out here and now we're fixing to embark on hopefully a sports complex that there's also more videos with mister grip Jones he was actually the first president of school board still support Compass today and I think that interview lasted about 40 45 minutes segments segment said that out in different clips and  posted on the compass website if you click on the compass website in the Education Foundation you can watch all those videos are and learn quite a bit about compass it's important for us to know what our vision is that group of people came up with a vision for the school and a vision statement and we we try our best to stick with this as best as possible so complicated he will serve as a model School of Excellence propelling Allstate Double L by delivering rigorous and relevant curriculum enforcing positive relationships and Innovative learning and addressing the needs of its students and families as well as the community to me I believe athletic Styles hand-in-hand with his vision having a FedEx allows us to have a rigorous and relevant curriculum it's not just the academic side that does that the athletic side does well and enforces positive relationships when you're on a team and a sports team in your fighting to win you have that the next to your bills leadership and build camaraderie teaches you how to deal with a loss how to deal with the way on how to act and Have Not only good manners a good sportsmanship also believe that having a sports having a good strong Sports Athletics program do is provide the needs for its students. We've been hearing for many many years now we just don't offer this sport we don't offer that sport we don't have the facilities well Compass has always been a crock pot not a microwave we had to go slow. We only have access to certain funds and because of that we were only able to bring in certain Sports when the phones allowed that happened so like next year worked at the start baseball and softball me real excited about that season getting kicked off next year we're jumping right into you by all right away the next thing I want I want to talk about so I want people to understand how Compass is funded a lot of people just don't know I didn't probably know before I got on the board so we're strictly funded the attendance so when your when your student is in that seat we get if I miss we don't get paid for that then that comes that money comes out to about $9,200 per student per year which translates into $50 per student per day based on the number of days did the teaching days are in the school year so it's very important students are at they're not sick but I have a family emergency I know we were looking at the numbers I think we sent out a text the last day of school before the Christmas break on how how bad the abscess it is that day also look back at just the last six weeks along from last semester $720,000 and absences know some of those are legit some of those kids are sick and you got family emergencies but if they're not we strongly we need you at that school so we can find the school also we get from fondant fundraising and giving there's different organizations as part of his Compass we have PTO and we have to athletic booster club they do fundraising throughout the year and they raise money and they contribute most of it to to the school I know that PTO has the string bass which is coming up I believe in April or March and that usually raising we're from 100 to $1,000 just went to bring back so we get a lot of nice in that that allows us to buy new smart boards new Chromebooks or anything else that the school's meeting at the time and in the Club one of the big events with booster club is a golf tournament that raises a lot of money and most of that money comes back to Compass they have to keep some for operating costs obviously but the compass benefits greatly from all these organizations to fundraise for us also giving them we have generous families throughout the years have money to give at the end of the year and asked us hey what do you need where you should wear your short fall and will show up we'll get out plans for him what we plan on building or Sean that we need a bunch of new Chromebooks or new smart boards and they'll give it into the years for always taking donations not just through fundraising but there anytime we need all the money we can get just just a function on we try to stretch our budget as best we can and then bonds how does that work so the charter school is unlocking ISD NISD will package a project together they'll get budgets together and I'll put it out to you as voters and you can vote on whether or not you want your taxes to go up to pay for that Bond Compass doesn't have that option we strictly get bonds from the strength of our of our financial so we thankfully we've had strong administering boards over the years the basically spent less than we made then we kept the fund balance at the end of every year and we were able to build a tough enough to where we were able to go after bonds and in the bond market started getting bonds they were around 6% cuz we weren't very enticing we didn't have much money and I we were risky investment over the years we we we have us we're able to save more money and get a bigger fund balance and I think our last straight was around two or three percent so it was it just blew us away we were investment-grade rated now we're very enticing and I think our last Bond sold in 40 to 45 minutes when we put them up for sale so we're in a really strong position now Bond it's taking a lot of years to get there so here's our current footprint of where we are if you look at this if you look at this map on the top left that's where Phase 1 and Phase 2 are the current campus phase one was built on a ridge 13 acres in example of how we've been supported Crossroads to not only found at our school but they gave us the first 13 acres over there to build the school on they've been such strong supporters of compass from day one so we actually built phase one over there and then moved over after it was finished and moved all the Portables from pagewood over then face to we don't have enough land for that so we actually were able to purchase an additional six acres for a 19 Acres total that we built this city which is currently the Comstock athletic in Fine Arts complex that we have now with our GM and comissaria weight rooms locker rooms and choir orchestra and band then after that we were actually able to get some more land and all this land wasn't available all at once it's it's it's been it's been really miraculous we were landlocked and then all the sudden Orlando's available and then we were landlocked no more land is available and so it's just been a miraculous thing to even get the land that we've had so we bought the first additional 10 acres after that and that's actually / John Cena now but on the left you see the seven acres in the on the yellow and the green across that was the additional 10 acres we purchased just so it wouldn't be landlocked and for future growth then after that the o and a 7.7 that's what we currently we just finished the construction for 10,000 square-foot Portable Buildings so why did we build us cuz we couldn't afford brick-and-mortar Junior High and high school and we knew that the path we were on it was going to take a long time to get there so we we we built and installed those for 10,000 square-foot portable building so that we can increase enrollment so next year we're going to add a classroom I believe k through eight we're going to have students K all the way to 8 they're going to add about a little over two hundred kids next just so that we can keep that balance sheet better have a fun balance and be able to go after another Bond at some point to build the brick-and-mortar phase 3 which contain Junior High and high school at some point we want everybody's kids out of Portables in a brick-and-mortar it just takes a long time to get there it's very expensive to do and then recently what talk about tonight all the red shaded area is what we were recently able to purchase and that's 25 acres and that just came available as well and it was just a timing thing and miraculously we were able to get it so that's where we want to build the sports complexes on it 25 acres and it it fits but it's tight and now I would like to invite our athletic directors up mister Floyd why is the boys athletic director and is Christina Bush as the Girls Athletic Director I just want them to give you some numbers and some stats of the Alex program and how it's doing at Compass how important Athletics is to academics and how much we've grown in athletics over the last few years imma go ahead and start on Christina by Bush and the girl that's what tractor I've been here a little bit longer than coach white so I'm going to give you a back story of where we started with the girls program back on 2018 2019 when I began when we first had our first freshman high school class Sun 2018 2019 on we had one athletic class and that consisted of 7th 8th and 9th graders that toll in athletics was 93 student-athletes then we proceeded to the two 19 2020 again keep in mind we had one athletic class. And at this time Athletics was in a portable instead of the it was cold outside we split up into 3 Portables and worked out in affordable the only time we went outside as of course is when weather permitted so from 2018 19 to 2019 2020 we went from 93 student-athletes to 128 when one portable 128 athletes changing girls class. That number grew again to 160 best time this is when now we going into 21-22 and we are able to have split class. And this was our first year and UIL sorry let me think the first Uniroyal was 2021 when we were still one class. And so when we going to 2122 we went from 160 to 164 + had a lot of success in our first year of uyl of course we were just in one portable outside no weight room and lack of facilities and so our student-athletes especially on both sides girls and boys were able to excel across the board and put us on the map in 21 2022 we also had our first two foreign exchange students competing in the athletic programs in 2020 to 2023 we again had two more foreign exchange student at this time we are seventh through 12th grade we had 175 girls student-athlete and out of the top the seven out of what are top 10 more student-athletes which I know three of our top 10 or student-athletes one was the salutatorian he was our athlete 2223 excuse me we are 75 seven of the top 10 where the van and then our valedictorian and salutatorian were student-athletes as well as our kids across the board not only did I numbers to grow we went from one affordable and to our great facility now my clothes also take care of the academics in the classroom so that also shows where they are and what they put for academics first and then Ashley and athletic second right now as we going to this year 2324 this is the first year that we've actually split off tennis and Bob's so including their numbers are as our total number is without them is 163 but if add 19th. That's about 190 going over a span of six years from when I first started here to now we've grown over 100 student-athletes on the girls side now with that being said cross-country on what I've asked is that past each head coach to give me program numbers from when they took over the program or 4 when they started the program some of us have been here since like myself 2018 is another time come in a little bit later so Cross Country Coach done for came in on a second interview il-2120 to she's gone from ten Runners all the way up to 12 currently she's gone they've gone Runner District Champions twice in a row I'm qualified for regionals and head estate runner for a tattoo of her three years and the boys side went from 10 up to 12 do you turn Ashley's finished district and qualified in region add regionals as well as far as Middle School all we see is of continued growth in middle school she went on the girls side from having one in 21 22 at 2 well and then on the boys side of a maintaining a 16 of course these kids are also District Champs and I mean doing a phenomenal job as you can see as a high school numbers have increased every year in volleyball when we started an 18 we've only had a 77 8th and freshman team from there we went to a 78 freshman JV team and then fall asleep then continue. 7th 8th and then Varsity JV we were able to increase numbers at that point to have two teams not until the 2122 do two facilities and we're still kind of in the storage as to why we're giving numbers because unlike volleyball basketball were only able to carry one team in 18 for both boys and girls star numbers from volleyball went from 41 to 65 in the program not including all the girls we have to turn away due to the like a room that we have the Cooter golf team and I both men and women they went from 3 which in the 19 20-year to 12 + 2324 in 21 of course the past three years they have been girls have been District Champs they've been either third-place runner-up or chance and regionals and of course has made the state and parents three times I mean of course there is. please is a little bit different than everybody else they've got to go to golf courses and I'm of course there's on fees for that that we do have to keep consideration that we've got to pay for and sometimes I long with golf they're also fighting other schools in our area for those tea time the boys went from 3 to 16 in a span of five years placing third place runner-up and champions finishing 11th and 12th in regionals in the past two years and of course our coaches have been we have two dedicated coaches that have been with this program since 2018 19th and then of course the middle school you're going from in the golf you're going from 2 to 16 and 6 to 20 so those numbers are increasing as well what are you going to tennis tennis were looking at for the past two years and 21 that will go to 2021 when we actually started we've had for girls 3 boys and we're up to 9 girls and 12 right now in Spring tennis as they have a team to team 10 in the fall and spring on the girls at a singles runner-up and Regional qualifiers singles champ and a runner-up qualifiers candle chant mixed doubles run Open qualifier boys JV singles champ double and a runner-up now please keep in mind tennis is awesome the kind of the same boat as the rest of us but a little bit different tennis doesn't get to practice every day they met and the past couple years they make it two days on a court depending on what chord is available as the country club or used to be be maybe I forgot to send in 20 C or just a regular outside cart so all of our kids in the teen and Tennis has put in the work extra Beyond because due to the lack of Court usage they have this Irwin coachlight partnered up with Ratliff for football we were also able to go ahead and ask for the tennis courts on at Rattlers so our kids are now being able to go Monday through Friday as to why part of the silly and the court tennis courts is a must and is highly encouraged that we do and thiem tennis and we started that in 22 23 to have a continuous number of 21 and growing this year they place number 3 in District and we're by District Champs and qualified and Regional switch is 5 far to stay in two years is a tremendous job for them as far as traffic goes in our last for just a brief number is we've gone from 18 and 19 we have gone from about 30 kids to now currently in which we're about to go into tracks 283 we have no track no traffic at all and in the past as since you lie all we've been able to advance kids from District all the way to States and where yeah I had on the boys side one individual who represented us and state and is of course I'm jumping in college but considering our kids especially in track go out here in the crossroads Field in The Limited use of Ratliff they have extremely done their job as far as competing as to why you know in the presentation right before you guys and it's very encouraging that we can get these funds for our kids because with the facilities are kids are going to be able to achieve much more than just what they have already with limited usage well thank you okay. So thank you is my name is Lloyd white I'm the boys athletic director and what I want to do is I just want to give you a quick glimpse of what we're looking at from the boys side just because I don't I don't have all the numbers that's chilly for the girls that I have a cup numbers but I want I want everybody to see the tremendous amount of growth is going on through the program and what we're projecting going for okay all right so I'm going to go ahead and start with this year because this because I couldn't get data for last year I tried to go back and find out if the last year but I just don't have that administrative access it is it is so we'll just go ahead and use this year's data so you guys can see it right now we are sitting with 112 athletes in the varsity program we have nine seniors that are graduating so if you get me we can all do the math we have 102 Total Athlete going to be moving forward from this point forward but we are starting to understand is that because of the things that we're starting to offer in the things that we're trying to do in the things that are going all the great things are going on the camping we are actually free you retain a lot more of our young men in our young ladies but just looking on the guy side we have with just guys that are in boys athletic that's not counting to the young men and yet they are just the young men that are in tennis and golf we have 72 incoming 9th graders just on the boys side so as you can see right now we're looking at 174 kids going into next year now with that being said that's a fifty five percent gross just from this year and it's only going up and it's only going faster than that we continue to add young men and young women cuz we're going to start rubbing our caps on our classes are starting to go up in our lower levels and then money starts to work through our numbers are only going to increase as you guys are going to see so we're going to start next year with 174 male athletes when we graduated 11 seniors so you guys can see we're going to have a hundred 53 Total Athlete just moving forward and to the 2526 school year so in a year we're going to grow tremendously even more but we have 53 incoming 9th graders this is just on the boys side are you talking about the girls side yet so with that hundred and seventy-four plus R53 we're now looking at 216 male athlete that's a 98% growth in 2 years and I'm shooting this thing low I'm going with the lowest with the lower end of the numbers are numbers are actually probably going to increase because as we start to increase our class sizes we're going to be alive and to allow more and more to come in so are our guys numbers just the guys a iguana grow but I'm shooting this thing really low right now so we have 160 male athlete when we graduate in 2016 years as you guys can see our classes are smaller at the 10th 11th and 12th grade classes but all the classes after that are going to get bigger so now we're looking at 190 total male athlete with 60 incoming 9th graders once again still shooting at Lowe's and three years were looking at 250 male athletes 120% growth from this year Raleigh graduation 41 that's saying that everybody stays in we graduating 41 310 total male athletes with I'm just going to go ahead and once again shoot low and say 60 more kids coming in so you guys can see what's happening is that we're just continue to grow and grow and grow now what I want to send you saying is I want us all to understand that what Athletics is doing not just for a toothache but we're doing for a total still Community right now based on our numbers based on our current enrollment numbers in the UIL with your 293 we serve 61 step of our students of our total student High School population with R179 pill Lasley once again that number is a little bit small because I didn't have all the fight all the girls numbers but the numbers would increase based on our on our new enrollment numbers that are coming up and that we did we just put into the UIL which is going to be 367 well with this next group of freshmen that we have coming in at once again with the young ladies that we have coming in and once again I'm shooting this thing we have 292 Total Athlete which is 78 actually spending 9.1 but I just want to put Cindy I got there and 79.1 of our high school population is served by boys and girls after Appalachian play me a huge role in the lives of all of our young men and young ladies and we're trying to get more and more hitting we just mean there's no reason for us to try to weigh right now or have the time not even really have to try to weigh we just do not have the space for everybody right now we're busting at the seams in one locker room and we're 80%. Room is just on the other side then we have kids we're almost having to double up we have we don't have enough football lockers I mean worth it I'll just show you on the next time you'll be able to see that but we're busting at the seams and we still don't even have all the facilities that we need just to run a football program properly just yet so I'll give you example of the growth that we've experienced just in the football program so the year before I got here we finished the season with 22 football players on the roster I looked at the roster of seeing the roster I looked at the film my verified the numbers we have 22 players that finish the season last year the first year that we were here we have 37 players that finish the football season 68% growth well this year first year with the whole staff we had six seven players finish the season we have a 205% growth just from 2 years ago next year we're going to have 110 total players right now we have 48 8th graders at right now I know the numbers you're not looking right now I know that 43 of them I'm just I'm going to head to say and if we for some reason we lose it a player or two that go to somewhere because they think they're going to find greener pastures somewhere I hope that's not the case I would love to have all 48 numbers because then all the sudden never grew up even more but regardless we're looking at a hundred and ten players that's a 400% growth from 21-22 we doing that we don't even have a lock release paper out for her for all these young men right now and it's all in Beck's not even counting the middle school kids that are all sharing that locker room because our sixth grade class is coming in as big as his eighth grade class is going out so right now we're looking at very easily a hundred plus shared between 180 to almost 200 plus kids in the football program that's a good everybody around you and that's just going to continue to grow because every class behind this in as big as all the rest of it plus we're adding section k through eight so as everything starts to come in we're going to get more and more and more young men that want to play I'm just like the official football but basketball the same way right now we're having to limit the number basketball teams that weekend that we can put out on the court just for the plain and simple fact that we do not have enough staff we don't have enough data to be able to do it we don't have enough gems to be able to do it there's no way to be able to we can't run a 7th grade and Seventh Grade B and an eighth grade and 8th grade be whenever one gym is being used for in the globe is no fault or anybody's butt ones you use by by your house the elementary kids before they get going to class and then we have another gym they only has no matter how you slice it only has two quarts so you're trying to be I mean you're really having figure that out and then on top of that we have some staffing issues but regardless we don't have the space to be able to do that and that's not even counting the 7th grade girls a and be a pretty girls and be I mean you're looking at a potential teams in the wait. We don't have the space in the bill to do it and then on top of that we have huge freshman class we have a I mean when we turned away 60 plus years but to me we had to cut roughly about 50 kid from basketball this year just because didn't have enough we didn't have enough spacing to be able to do that for them and that's the case in a lot of our programs were having to cut because we don't have one the Staffing but two we don't have the facilities to be able to do it and so that's why we wake me up at 3 saying the numbers tell us that we've got to start to do something for ourselves we're spending a boatload of money to go to Ratliff to be at the emergency we're at the mercy of ECISD to be able to schedule football games in the middle schedule track me to be able to schedule practices because we are having to use everybody else and so what happens if he comes well this is our place we get this right now and then you guys kind of get it whenever you guys can get in there well that's putting all of our kids are at a disadvantage in a distinct disadvantage to everybody else that were around and we don't want our kids we are kids are just as important as everybody else's kids there's no there's no but you know there's nothing that that's going to be tricking to tell me was going to tell me that our kids aren't as important as the kids necid just like the kids we are important but we have got you start to get our own things because then we're not at the mercy of everybody else and then we can schedule then we can have all of our other problems that we have whatever we have her own stuff but those two things that were looking at right now just a quick Glimpse in the next 4 years and I mean the way this place is going in with the granite with the Great Adventure in the great staff that we have around here I see our numbers starting to buy me we're going to start busting at the seams fairly soon so thank you God all right so obviously I couldn't do that Justice I mean if that's not a case for why we need not only new facilities that we don't currently have a bigger facility but we can I don't know what is always talking about how the girls is keep going up and up and up we are capped at a certain limit enrollment wise but what he's talking about is like say 11. Right now we probably have roughly 70 kids in 11th grade and we could actually serve 120. We have about 70 so all kids in 12th grade we could starve 120 so that's where a lot of girls going to come from that's weak start offering baseball and softball and just having more girls in general with people staying longer getting more of a history we're going to see that explode and that fill up and it's going to increase enrollment especially in high school sports next I got a little short video for you that I'm real proud of one of our moms made and most of them probably already seen it but this gets me really excited that's why you're here that's what I want to build we got we phased it out because obviously we know we may not be able to get all the money to go to all at once so what's most important and we came up with that through meetings with directors the ad man in the school board and it came up with what was most important so here's here's the plan layout of what it'll probably look like as not 100% yet we haven't partner with an architectural firm stamp this is this exactly what we're building but based on how baseball field football field and everything and need to be orientated and how big they are this is the best layout Kyle Newton was able to come up with a new Newton engineering and it flows really well I think the layouts really nice so I kind of go over it with you real quick ShopRite in the northeast corner of the property on the on the westside of Estancia we will have a more parking lot space that we wanted to add and then just below the new portable so we had it is one of those are eight tennis courts when you're 38 weeks we're going to be pushing 384a by the time we feel 8 quarts is about what we need to be able to have enough course for tennis then you see that dashed line that goes across the property from Southwest to Northeast that's a crmwd water line that we can't build on we can probably have Rose and stuff like that on it but no permanent structures so that's why it's it's got to be Compact and what and where we built on the south side of that line would be the football stadium with a train track the seating capacity at I believe this for around three thousand for this Stadium it's a b it's a typical 38 for a size it would have a concession stand locker rooms changing area for the refs restrooms and all that and then on the southwest side of the of the football stadium at football team with a train track so we were the full compliance track for a track team so the football stadium is part of phase 1 in and all the south side of that is The discus and shotput area and it just blows out the the rectangle shape there is a retention Pond we've got to have somewhere for a storm water to drain off okay so that's where that would be on the west side of the page we have a road that kind of goes through the whole the whole property so we can't reverse it from one side of the other but on the west side of the page just above the softball field if you see the softball field facing north complex would be the fieldhouse in indoor turf facility on the backside of it now we're not concentrating on indoor facility that's more of a want not really a need so we're concentrating on just about everything but that if we get the money for it absolutely will build it along with everything else and then just south of the softball field the baseball field in baseball fields have the fencing the turf backstops batting cages pressbox restrooms and everything and then to the left on the left hand side of the page on the southwest corner is another new parking lot with us at home games and everything else we're going to have to have more parking space for everyone and will be able to help alleviate the burdens we put on Crossroads parking lot now I'm at the end of the day we have we use a huge chunk of their parking lot and this will allow us not only to be able we'll have our have our line for pickup on our own property but we're also planning on pulling the merge lane the merge lane down from where it currently is back to the parking lot we're going to build so that when you're in line to pick your kids up from school when you leave our parking lot you're never going to get on Billy heck going to go from our parking lot straight to the merge lane and not impede traffic I think it's going to it'll improve traffic flow and we all know as we drive around Odessa traffic is probably the worst problem we have right now it's very difficult to get around this town we can alleviate some of the traffic over here then we're going to do it so now let's talk about price what's what is this going to cost these are all budgetary numbers we talked to three different contractors we've got some pretty solid numbers and we think these are pretty accurate obviously you want to shoot hot done budget so we that we hope will come in under this but it just all depends on timing Atkins on inflation it depends on so many different factors the cost of materials so phase one would be what we would build first and that's the football with eight-lane track and infrastructure involved in building that when we build that football stadium it's not just going to be the football same as track we're going to have to bring in utilities were going to build detention ponds were going to go parking lot so the costs associated with the football stadium the football stadium track doesn't cost 8 million but everything involve to have to build that so it's right at 8.64 Phase 1 Phase 2 we would go right into the tennis courts tennis tennis y'all heard from coach Bush about how Tennessee struggled trying to find a place to play we don't have enough ports we don't get enough Court time and we always have to play it some Elsa's feel just about like all of our other sports except basketball and volleyball we have to play in somebody else's home home court when we're playing home and we want to have our own courts here so eight tennis courts just just north of 1 million 3 when we get the money we would build the baseball field and additional infrastructure limited are again with the football stadium the baseball field isn't 3.2 $9 for just the baseball field there's also going to be a lot more infrastructure to get down to the south side of that property to get that Baseball Field built going to be more parking lot there's going to be more road so it's going to be utilities you got to bring over so the baseball field by itself doesn't cost 3.2 million but everything got to do to get that is 3.2 million base 10 to the softball field and this is probably more accurate stacker what the baseball field would cost about self the baseball field in probably around 2 million by itself but the softball field is 1.8 and just a little bit over 1.8 and that's the softball field artificial turf the fencing the bad both bills would have their own batting cages pressbox and dugouts and all that now baseball field house Fieldhouse is a big a big price tag 34,000 square foot field house it's a big Field House most schools 384a or anywhere from 20,000 fathoms in some at 10,000 anywhere from 20,000 to 30000 sqft but because of the numbers off her tonight we're trying to plan for the future we're trying to not bust at the seams again at some when we tap out we don't want to build something and then regret not building it big enough we want to build it till it to where it all contain us for the future for many years to come so that 34000 square-foot warehouse sorry I said that practicing this to the 34,000 square foot feel how what happened basketball court and we play volleyball in as well it would be a little bit probably a more friendly atmosphere for The Spectators and and the and the players alike will get those stands a little bit further back from the playing area and make it a little bit of a bigger or it'll have weight rooms in it boys and girls locker rooms film rooms changing rooms for refs bathrooms concessions and all that so the prospect of the field house would be just north of 10 million of 10.2 those five phases like I said a minute ago I left out the indoor soccer facility but subtotal for all those together 25 million just just a little bit over 25 million we have a construction contingency of around 10% for unforeseen things that we haven't thought of her change orders we hope that'll cover all those and if that happens at that's a 2.5 and a profession professional design and construction fees we talked through different contractors the numbers are all over the map from to 10% based on that so we we feel strongly that we're going to be able to negotiate hopefully at 2 to 6% so that being said I think the chameleon is around 3% I think I figured so all in all all in we hope to get this thing built for 28.5 million that's a big number and I get it that's a lot of money fortunately the school some money a little bit to start with so when we went after our last Bond we went after more than we needed to help build something like this on that land and so from the last Bond we had the school saved we we thought we would go to put three million dollars towards a complex we're actually going to put 3.5 million dollars towards this complex so we're not starting at Ground Zero we're starting at the close to 8 to 10% actually over 10% without money so 3.5 from the school and also in the last month we've we're going to have donations coming in since we put out the hot video on Facebook and people that are around Compass a lot and talking and knowing this was coming have a statement and got end-of-year what how can we help so we raised about 250,000 already I just in the last month from a donation self we worked in the run out of a 3.75 million but we need a lot more and as you can see 28.5 million we got 3.75 we got a long way to go and that's why you're here we're appealing to you we have limited resources and we need you to whether you have money you have ideas you have creative ways that you can help us partner with us to raise this that's how it's going to get bills that's how it's going to happen and that's the whole purpose of our meeting tonight is to get the conversation started how can you help if you do that if you do the math if you do the numbers we need about 27 28 million because of what we already have we're going to have 1650 students roughly next year just on what we're adding next year and then if we fill up 11 well we're going to get 1750 so if we could if we could raise somewhere around the neighborhood of $18,000 per student it's done it's built its over and so when you look at 28 Millions it's daunting but when you think about first student I think it's a it's a little bit more Theobald maybe you can see that that the light at the end of the tunnel so that's that's what we need now how are we going how are we going to hold the money and who's going to spend it so because of the strength. because of the bonds that we go after if we take in this money and house at compass and then we go after a future Bond whatever we take in Andhra Capital campaign will be deducted from the next Bond when I go out the window phase 3 going to be brick-and-mortar General Hospital at some point it's going to cost me where from 30 to 40 million dollars that when we first started talking about it was 23 million that years and years ago by prices of increase so 30 to 40 million dollar versus the bond we have to go after at some point to build that if we raised 28 million they deduct that 28 million from the bond when I go after and I'm really able to get 12 so that's why we created this Compass Academy Education Foundation we formed this last semester and this is going to be the vehicle that's going to hold the money's too pay the bills to to get all the the sports complex built and we appointed three members to the Education Foundation Joel Rhodes is president president comes Academy Education Foundation he's a former School Board member and unfortunately he stop down we we had a better offer and hard as wife is a school teacher so he is our president of our Education Foundation and then Ryan George's is a vice president serve on Georgia's vice president of the Education Foundation Ron George's Joel has kids Compass ESPN on the game Ron George has kids to go to Compass he asking the game and he's a lifelong that's in like Joe and a great asset for the school along with Joel and Kathy to be able to help us hopefully raise the money for this for this Vision Sophia and Kathy Killingsworth is the treasurer of the foundation as well she's been our superintendent for the past I don't even know how many years she's a big reason why we're financially strong she has a strong strong business and she's great fun chili and she was a great superintendent served us well for many years and it's because of her leadership and that Pascal words leadership that we're standing here even having this opportunity to where we've been able to purchase land to build this on that we want all our kids to play home football games on it. we want all of our kids to have not facilities and compete with isd's compete with the other private schools now but we're going to need your help to do that so if if you want to donate to the foundation is already started. They already have a bank account. accepting donations there's going to be a link on the compass County website if you go to Cub Scout and go to the Education Foundation their web page will pull up that's where you can watch and see all the videos with Chris and the interview they're the hot video the site plans and it's also going to be done link so you can actually click on that donation link and donate directly to them now it's on there but it's not up and running it and the whole reason it's not up and running yet is cuz we haven't received our paperwork for the Education Foundation from the RS so the company that does the donation link won't finalize that and let us start taking money through that link until we give him the paperwork that we haven't gotten yet but they count open and if you contact us if you get with us we can start taking the money and as we work next week at the school board we're going to talk in depth about trying to partner with a contractor and get the ball rolling and getting the plans finalized so as soon as we get the plans finalized as soon as we get money we're going to start construction nothing's going to slow us down, Newton Newton engineering has already been in talks with with the city getting the Planning and Zoning done and that's moving along nicely we think that'll be done within the next four weeks or so so the only thing stopping us from that point is getting money and getting the plants done and after that we're going to hit the ground running a few people I want to thank tonight putting all the stuff together obviously I can't do it myself and these people were just so instrumental in helping me get the information I needed and helping me prepare for the night so Noble Mosby he's that strategic alignment executive Crossroads he's the guy that did everything for for me when we first did the interview with Chris he said everything up he had the microphone she had the video she edited for me he broke them apart and I just really want to thank him for his participation helping us and then Crossroads Fellowship you know from the founding of our school to the vision they had to where we are now fifteen years later and still helping us with using their parking lot and they donated the land for phase one and they've always told us the land that we bought at a very reasonable price and they're just a great neighbor and that they were probably best maybe we could have and we love sharing this property with him and then third on the list is Melody Dominique so she is she's a parent at Compass she has kids that go to Compass she's also on that Let It Go  board and she makes all the videos that you see on Facebook for the booster club I contacted her about doing a hot video for this she had it with me she had it to me within 24 hours and of course she had to edit it about eight times because we had feedback and going back and forth and she spit it out fast and Johnny on the spot and I just I'm so thankful for her and people liked her that's what makes us a special place in my opinion and enforcing this is Cam Newton so all the site plans all the renderings you seen up there was done by Newton engineering and call ever give him reasonable time line when we're doing bonds when we need surveys done or we need site work done and in Platts it's never in a reasonable time frame and he's always hit the the the golf he's always come in early and I'll he's always stuff for us extra stuff for us I just want to thank him too so those four people were instrumental in getting this information.
