About Mrs. Elam
My name is Brandie Elam. I am so excited to be joining the Compass family this year! This is my first year at Compass but my 22nd year teaching. I taught Kindergarten and 3rd grade the first half of my career. Then I started teaching Special Education classes mainly at the middle school level for the past 10 years.
I moved to Odessa a year ago from Big Lake, TX (I taught there 20 years). While growing up, my family moved a lot. In 2003, I graduated from Angelo State University. I am certified in EC-8th general education with a specialization in Reading and Math, ESL, and Special Education.
My husband and I have been married for one year. Together we have 7 wonderful children (his 4 and my 3), and we recently became grandparents to a precious, perfect baby girl this summer. Our kids keep us busy with their activities, and there's never a dull (or quiet) moment!
