About Mrs. Helmcamp

Hello! I am so excited to have your child in my class!

My name is Alyssa Helmcamp and this is my 8th year at Compass. I am certified in Core Subjects Grades 4-8, Generalist EC-6th, English as a Second Language, and GT.

A little about me… I graduated from Sam Houston State University (Eat ‘Em Up Kats!!) with a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and a minor in Agriculture Business. After graduation, I worked in the oilfield as an AP clerk, which is what brought me out to west Texas. I am married to my college sweetheart, Jonathan, and we have two amazing children, Jensen, my energetic, silly boy who is starting 2nd Grade this year, and Adalynn, my sassy, spunky 4-year-old mini-me. We also have three fur babies, Kahlua (a blue heeler mix), Roadie, and Ziegen (2 black and tan miniature dachshunds.) 

In my spare time, I love spending time with my family, going garage sale shopping with my mom, cooking, baking, fishing, and reading. I also have a deep passion for all things agriculture!
