About Coach Castillo
This will be my 6th year of coaching elementary PE at Compass Academy. I'm the head coach of kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades and I assist with 3rd, 4th and 5th grades.
I have been married to my beautiful wife Barbi for 25 years and we have a sweet 14 year old daughter, Bella Love who will be starting the 9th grade at home school. Prior to working in education I played professional baseball at the minor league level (left-handed pitcher) in Montgomery, Alabama.
This will be my 23nd year in education, the last 17 years as an elementary PE coach. My first 5 years I was in the classroom as a special education teacher before I transitioned into coaching PE. Previous campuses have included Blackshear, Burleson, Barbara Jordan and Ireland. I also have coached baseball at OHS and Permian.
I'm looking forward to coaching your children in the elementary PE program and challenging them to get better and better as they do their best. It's exciting to have the challenge of building champions in our Compass Academy K-5 PE program and inspiring them toward creating the mindset of a champion.
When away from work, I'm with Barbi and Bella Love. We love serving at our church, bowling, swimming, and traveling to watch Texas A&M sports, since I grew up in College Station!
