About Mrs. O'Connell

My name is Jamie O'Connell and I am so excited to be joining the Compass family this year! This is my first year at Compass but my 15th year teaching. I have enjoyed my time teaching 3rd, 4th and 7th grade English over the years. 

 

I grew up in Illinois and moved to Odessa in 1999. I am a proud graduate of Permian High School. I attended UTPB where I majored in Child & Family studies and minored in Art. I am certified to teach with my EC-4 generalist and 4-8 English. I am trained in GT, Conscious Discipline and AVID. 

 

My husband and I will celebrate 11 years of marriage this year and we have 3 kids. Justin is 16, Aniya is 14 and Bentley is 10. I keep myself busy with all of their extracurricular activities as well as my nephews. I am a proud Aunt JJ to my guys! We also have 3 fur babies: Ace is our rescue doggo and Callie & Stella are our big fat cats!
