Educational Diagnostician

My name is Misti Smith and I am the Educational Diagnostician at Compass Academy.  I was born and raised in Odessa.  I graduated from Permian High School in 1998 and earned my Master's Degree in Special Education-Diagnostician in 2008 from UTPB.  This is my 21st year in education and my 15th as a Diagnostician. 

 

I have been married to my husband, Boe for 13 years.  He is also in Education as a teacher/coach at Legacy High School. 

 

We have two beautiful children Presli and Gunner.  Presli is a 7th grader at Compass Academy.  She attends Center Stage Dance Studio where she is part of Surge, a competition dance team.  She takes Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Hip Hop and Tap.  Gunner is a 2nd grader at Compass Academy.  He is active in sports year-round.  He participates in football, basketball, baseball and track.  

 

I enjoy working with children and am passionate about being an advocate for them.  I look forward to meeting new students and parents this school year.
