Dual Credit Through Odessa College

We will continue offering dual credit classes for the 2024-25 academic year. All students who qualify will be able to complete English and/or History their Junior year and, upon successful completion, will be allowed to enroll in additional classes to follow.
 
Dual credit students will be given a designated period within the regular school day at Compass. The students will be able to work from a computer or Chromebook on the OC curriculum with a Compass teacher acting as a facilitator.
 
If you are interested in taking Dual Credit classes for the fall semester:

There is a pre-assessment that the students have to take prior to taking the TSIA2. Students will have to set up an account to take it and present the completion confirmation to the testing site. Here is the link to get started: https://practice.accuplacer.org/login

Students must take and demonstrate College Readiness in the required portions of the TSIA2 test and provide this documentation to Mrs. Garza by June 7, 2024. Students are responsible for taking the TSIA2 on their own. The contact for Odessa College's Testing Center 432-335-6620 or email [email protected]  Taking the test multiple times does not harm a student's academic record if portions need to be retaken. OC also offers free TSIA2 tutoring in their Learning Resource Center 432-335-6640 or email [email protected]

After testing, please provide passing results to Ami Garza, [email protected]. Once this piece is complete, the students and parents will be guided in the next process of completing course registration.

 

Students must also complete the Ellucian Recruit application process, a guide to the process is attached. This piece is crucial as you must have an issued OC student id before you can be registered for classes.
