About Mrs. Helmcamp

Hello! I am so excited to have your child in my class!

My name is Alyssa Helmcamp and this is my 9th year at Compass. I am certified in Core Subjects Grades 4-8, Generalist EC-6th, English as a Second Language, and GT.

A little about me… I graduated from Sam Houston State University (Eat ‘Em Up Kats!!) with a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and a minor in Agriculture Business. After graduation, I worked in the oilfield as an AP clerk, which is what brought me out to west Texas. I am married to my college sweetheart, Jonathan, and we have two amazing children, Jensen, my energetic, silly boy who is starting 3rd Grade, and Adalynn, my sassy, spunky 5-year-old mini-me who will be in kinder this year. We also have three fur babies, Kahlua (a blue heeler mix), Roadie, and Ziegen (2 black and tan miniature dachshunds.) 

In my spare time, I love spending time with my family, cooking, baking, fishing, and reading. I also have a deep passion for all things agriculture!
